Late July is when Mother Nature gets kind of messy. Super noisy.

It’s a cicada chorus as dusk approaches, and the hot evening air seems to hang like a damp blanket. Male cicadas issue mating calls to attract their female counterparts. Noisy bugs in love.

In nearby trails and parks, invasive plants take over and who really has the energy to rein these suckers in? Not me. I’ll just take photos. Presented here: the teasel, Queen Anne’s Lace, and Dame’s Rocket.
