Two things that amaze me about living in Mississippi… can you guess? There are probably 100 things but I’ll give you two to get the conversation started.
1. The number of five-year-olds who open the door for me at the YMCA. I moved from Chicago to Jackson in October 2016, and I’ve lost count of the number of children, many of them wee young kids, who hold the door open for me at the Y. Blows my mind. Every time. Kids are just not that polite or courteous in Chicago. Enough said.
2. The number of personal checks I have written. Can you remember the last time a store clerk encouraged you to write a check instead of paying with a card b/c it will save you 4%? I can. It was two months ago in Florence at the antiques store on Highway 49. Truth.
